I am a teacher and was previously a bank teller so I am on my feet all day.
My previous pair of Danskos lasted me about 5 years with almost daily wear.
When it came time to buy another pair of shoes for daily wear, Dansko was the only shoe I considered.
This time I went with the Hailey clog because I wanted more style but was worried about the heel design instead of a flat sole.
Well, after wearing them for about a week now I am not at all sorry I bought them. They are super comfortable right out of the box. No "wearing in time" was experienced as so many other shoes do. They felt super comfortable and the sizing was right on. I wear a 36 (5.5/6 American) and knew my size because of my previous shoe.
I used to wear an insole with my previous pair but I don't think I will need one with this pair. My feet feel comfortable all day, they aren't sweaty like some other shoes make my feet after a full day of walking. This shoe also has that classic loose heel that Danskos are known for but trust me, if you haven't worn Danskos before it is odd at first but your feet will thank you for it.
This looseness at the heel helps your feet move more naturally and allow your feet to breathe.
To top it off the styling is great and they go with just about any outfit. Quality and craftsmanship may cost you a little, but like I said, my last pair lasted me 5 years so you will save in the long run, you won't be sorry!
Please give Danskos a try, you won't be sorry!

After reading the mixed reviews I was a little concerned these would be too small and considered buying a larger size (I am usually a size 42). I decided to go with the 42, the shoes were a little tight at first to get my foot into (a shoe horn helps), but once on they still felt a little tight but tolerable. I wore them twice for 2-3 hours at a time around the house with a pair of sports socks to prevent blisters. I wore them out on a short shopping trip a week or so ago and they did pinch a little, however I tried them on again yesterday and wore them to the mall - they fit like a glove! My perseverance was dutifully rewarded. They look great on with a pair of jeans and I love the support Dansko's give me.

Ordered sz 39, my Usual size. I have a skinny foot, 5'7" & 123.
WAY TOO LONG! I could fit a finger into back of each. HOWEVER - oddly, the top (that top of the "band" area that goes over the top of the foot) is WAY TOO TIGHT! will be sending back.

Width of shoe is perfect - its just that top opening (which goes over top of foot) is way too tight!
Shoe is really cute though. So- I ordered a 38... I will attempt to do a review on the 38... 38 came in, Length fits a little long (way too much length in the heel area -to the "rear" of the insole!) but the insole is weird, in that, if I shove my toes up to the tip, then the insole works with my foot... which leaves a huge gap near the heel- which is why I stated that the length in the heel area is too long!

The opening of the shoe- specifically that top opening portion - that goes over the top of the foot- is way too tight!
Its sad... they are so cute! Sending back.

I wanted to get a second pair of dansko's to wear with jeans and thought the hailey clog could be worn for work or for the weekends. My other pair of dansko's are a 40, I ordered this pair in a 40 and could not get my foot in, I returned, and was very impressed with Amazon's return process, they shipped out a size 41 immediately. The 41's are tight across the top of my foot. I am hoping with wear they will stretch some and be as comfortable as my other danskos.

was very much looking forward to finally receiving my new clogs only to find out that it's completely impossible to put them on due to their very low rise (bridge or whatever that top part is called......) Granted, I've got high arches but these shoes are not just tight or difficult to slip on, it's actually impossible to squeeze in (even though I ordered them half a size up from my usual size..... thus I don't even know how the actual inside of the shoe fits (length, support, etc.) because I can't get my foot into them...... made me sad, because I really like the look of them but now I've got no choice but to return them......

I am so happy that Dansko is making more slim fitting, stylish shoes. I wear clogs all of the time, so I wear them out. I bought these to replace my brown clogs, and they look and feel great. The fit is a little snugger, more like a shoe than a clog. I'm very pleased. I wear a 9 shoe and so I take a 40 in Dansko. For sandals I wear a 39. Good arch support, solid materials, I can wear these shoes all day and my feet feel good.
