Sturdy and attractive, but be sure to load your heaviest items into the back of the rack.
I installed this sliding organizer on the lowest shelf in my pantry to make all the stuff more accessible without having to get on my knees and dig around. Overall, I really like the build of this organizer - the rack is very sturdy and it looks good when installed. The rack itself isn't flexible at all and easily bears the weight of a lot of really heavy items, and it slides smoothly in and out. I have it filled with bottles of oil, large containers with rice, etc. It also fits perfectly into the space in my pantry so I didn't lose any storage capacity in the pantry by installing this particular model.The only issue I have with this organizer is that when the rack is fully extended - and I mean pulled all the way out where it will not extend any further - it can be bend/droop down if the majority of the weight is in the front of the rack. If you had the rack filled with really heavy items and had most of the weight in the front, I would worry that it might bend the glides down enough to misshape them over time. However, it was easy enough to get around this potential problem by making sure that I placed the heaviest items (the big rice container and the largest bottles of oil, etc.) in the very back of the rack. That way, the majority of the weight is directly over two points where the glides are well supported by the mounting brackets. That balancing of the weight also prevents the front of the rack from tipping down. Think of a seesaw with a bigger kid on one side: you want the heavy kid on the "back" of this seesaw. With the weight in the back, I have the rack almost entirely full and it feels solid even when the rack is fully extended.The glides are not cheap or flimsy, its just a matter of how the weight it distributed when the rack is extended - there is nothing directly below the rack to support all the weight. But of course that's the whole idea of a sliding rack, and this one is particularly deep. It really is only a possible problem when the rack is pulled completely out to the stopping point. It seems like if they had designed this rack so that the glides didn't extend that last inch or so, this would not be an issue.I haven't installed any other sliding racks in my house yet, but I'm planning on adding more like this one and I will definitely use this same brand, or one with a similar heavy-duty construction. I've checked out some of the cheaper versions that are constructed from the kind of thin metal wire that you would normally see in the really inexpensive closet organizers, and I would definitely not use one of those for a sliding organizer this deep that was meant to support even a moderate amount of weight.Recommended for sure, just make sure you distribute weight with the heaviest items in the back of the rack and I bet it will last forever.EDIT: About two years since I wrote the initial review, and it's still functioning smoothly.
