I make this for guests and friends and everybody always loves this coffee. I make mine in a stovetop percolator. I grind with a Bodum burr grinder and set it one notch in from full coarse. I get the water hot first, then drop in the coffee basket and percolate for 3 minutes, maybe 4 if I want a little extra flavor. Very smooth, yet tasty. It goes great with a shot of lavazza expresso crema e gusto on the side from a moka express.

One of the things I love about Amazon is being able to find products that you've never seen in a local store. Such is how I came across LavAzza. Lavazza Gran Filtro - Whole Bean Coffee, 2.2-Pound Bag Its now my goto coffee for everyday drinking and at less that $8.50 a pound on Prime its competitive with most brands in my local stores and much better than most, and its delivered to my door. Try it and enjoy.

I really enjoy this coffee. I visited France a couple of years ago, and the coffee there is not even comparable to what most Americans drink. I thought that coffee was supposed to be bitter and make you wince a bit, but the smoothness of what I received at European coffee shops amazed me. I have been brewing this with my Bodum Bistro pour over machine, and it has never produced a bad cup. I recently started ordering coffee on Amazon, and this is the best one I have had yet. It is also not bad when brewed as espresso (though not as good as the Orinoco espresso blend I regularly get).

I've been using these beans for a few years now; brewing a carafe of drip almost everyday. These beans are great and affordable as an everyday coffee. They're not the best beans you'll ever find. However, they're much better than what you'll find at your neighborhood supermarket.

We ordered this coffee a number of times, and really enjoyed the first two bags - just the aroma of the product alone was enough to make us swoon, lol. However, the next couple of bags were awful - they smelled bad and tasted worse. We gave it three stars because the flavor and quality of the coffee is so inconsistent between bags - something we noticed on most Lavazza products. The last bag was so bad we could not even drink it without putting cocoa in it. We do not use sugar in our coffee, just a little cream or whole milk, so the taste is more pronounced to us. We order the Gusto now each month, and it is small enough that if the bag is bad, we mix it with something else not to waste it. I will never forget the smell and flavor of the first two bags of the Gran; it was just perfect coffee. We ordered the Crema beans (lacked flavor) and the Gusto and compared them to Illy coffee (very acidic) in a blind test. The Gusto, though still inconsistent, surpassed them for a daily coffee. Hope this helps someone.

Lavazza Cafe Filtro Classico somehow has a hint of chicory.. which I absolutely hate. After reading several reviews about this particular blend of coffee I decided to spring for it, considering the price! What a mistake, seriously! I have no idea how to get rid of 2.2 pounds of this stuff. I tried "donating" it to my father, who will seriously drink anything that's free.. He told me that it tasted like ____ (it's a four letter word..). Lavazza Cafe Filtro Classico selling at this price can only mean one thing... think about it!
