Beautiful, functional and great cup of tea: and real
Beautiful, functional and great cup of tea: I am so pleased with this product. You know how some others (which I returned) look nice but the spout is half way down the pot so the purported 40oz capacity actually turns out to be about 20oz? Well THIS DOES produce 40oz because the design has the pouring spout at the top of the pot. Also I put mine on a tea pot warmer the ones with the small candle for keep it hot and steeping, its like they say stove top friendly or just do a I do. BUY IT and enjoy....also well packed to avoid breakage...I have received other brands broken.

I drink tea every day, all day. So, a good tea pot is important. I like glass pots so much that I bought two more. Yes, they're delicate, and the first one (by another company) did break. However, now that I treat the pot with the respect that it deserves, I've kept the second one for over a year -with one on reserve just in case. Primula's price came way down, so they're worth it. And this teapot seems a lot sturdier than the one made by Teavana (which broke after 2 weeks).

Tea tastes "cleaner" and crisper after a slow brew in a glass teapot.

I wanted a serious tea pot for serious tea drinking and this one fills the bill nicely. I've used this teapot two or three times a day for over six weeks and I love it. Although it looks fragile, it is very sturdy. I've used it with a variety of loose teas at temperatures ranging from 180 to 212 F. While the glass infuser works admirably I prefer to brew the tea loose in the pot and then strain into cups or mugs. Being able to watch the leaves unfurl and monitor the color of the tea as it brews is practical and satisfying. I plan to buy a second pot for the inevitable day this klutz breaks his favorite tea pot.

The whole system is fantastic! -while it lasts. Understandably, it is a very delicate item. My infuser broke (likely due to heat stress) within about 4 months. This isn't surprising, as the infuser is simply a cone of glass with slits cut into it. These slits likely are the stress points for rapid heating/cooling, so they will fail first. Otherwise, I've improvised with a ceramic strainer with holes formed in it prior to kiln-baking.

When I bought this it was only $13.00 on Amazon and I thought I got an outstanding deal. I used it a few times and close to the area where the handle begins it began cracking. It was not bumped on anything. I guess it merely could no longer handle the weight of the pot. That is strange since the handle is really large for the pot and a little strange looking in design. The kicker is that now the same pot is selling for $26.00. It also came with one very small plastic wrapped tea flower. I put it in the water and it looked gross and I wasn't going to dare drink something that looked like that. Anyway, I didn't loose on this deal since I purchased the $13 pot because I needed a new lid for another pot and fits okay. Actually the filter on this pot is also very large for the pot and the holes in it are bigger than my other glass filter, but if you don't mind letting the tea settle a bit, it works fine. So I have a broken pot, but a good lid and filter. I contacted the seller four times and they say that they don't recognize the order number, but they should, it was accurate. I note there was yesterday a block under this product saying it's under Amazon review because of complaints.

This is my second pot. I absolutely love it. I got this one as a replacement since I dropped and shattered the cap on the previous one. I must tell that a new cap is not going to fit exactly your previous pot as they are probably made to match each other. However, it is a close fit. The pot has great quality and is very convenient . It always looks great regardless of where you use it - in your backyard, at a granite countertop or a at a formal table. Great product!

A beautiful product! I think it was designed to be ornamental and not actually used. I handled this teapot with kid gloves because it looked very fragile. I only washed it by hand and was so careful to keep it from bumping counters or any other surfaces. I didn't even store it in a cabinet, in case something bumped it. I was hoping for a heavy duty teapot, with glass like Pyrex, because I am a tea drinker who prefers loose tea. The tea strainer has now cracked and broken: nothing touched it, it just happened. I'm able to still use the pot but not the strainer. So I'm disappointed since I've had this teapot a little over a month. I don't expect the pot to even last 6 months; the handle will go next and I'll just toss it out or use it as a planter. So if you actually want to use this pot, I recommend something sturdier. But if you just want to display the green tea blossom, this teapot is a very ornamental and pretty.

This is really only good for flowering tea. The filter included for loose leaf teas has large slits in the side, allowing the leaves to get out and mix in with the water. It doesn't hold in heat well, so there is a lot of evaporation and heat loss when using a burner to heat water.

If you want this to brew tea in, bad idea.

If you want this to hold a flowering tea, and pour boiling water over from somewhere else, sure.
