As a secondary note, I also love the Cuisinart 14-inch wide skillet I bought. You can fry about 8 hamburgers, or 10 salmon pattys comfortably in it. It is light weight and the double-clad feature cooks the hamburgers evenly even though the pan is large. It is a must have too. So very happy with both of these products!
I suppose my biggest gripe is that calling this stainless is really stretching it. Mine ended up with what appear to be permanent discolorations after just a few uses. I'm assuming this is due to a lower quality of steel and is probably why this is so much cheaper than other professional grade pots. I don't really mind that and I don't think I should expect perfection since this pot IS so much cheaper that the competition. To me, this is still a pro grade product in performance that's priced like a much lower grade pot you might find in the big box stores. Thus for it's ability to perform in the kitchen and for the great value, I'm giving this 4 stars.
I've ordered this pot before (one year ago), but this time I received a different brand. First "Update," now "Winco." Winco isn't a bad company per se. However, you could see that the handles were spot welded (like the product photo, to keep the inside of the pot smooth), but then rivets were put through the handles/pot as well. You could tell that the rivets were added on after the fact, because the rivets somewhat marred the finish around the inside of the pot. I assume the original welds were too weak and they had to go back and rivet them on to keep the handles from falling off.
The pot functions fine, but the rivets and marred sides make it more difficult to clean.
If you get one without the rivets, it's great; after all, I was buying a second one. If you get one with rivets, return it and try again.
