Had such high hopes ....
So pretty and seem so strong....NOPE! I really loved my shiny new luggage....until our First across country travel, the airlines dented 2 of the 3 pieces of luggage! Beyond repair, so Amazon sent us out new luggage right away, and we shipped the others back. So, now we take another trip, now, we don't travel often, so this is the first time w the new luggage, and the handle snaps as we are loading it into the car!!! I was so irritated! So I let it go and went on with my vacation. Well, last week we we're loading up to go out of town and AGAIN another handle snapped! It was not overpacked, the airlines has weight restrictions! So it was well under 50 lbs. ALSO the telescoping handles are so rickety, they jiggle so bad they don't click into place no stay in place. I just saw someone's question about the warranty, so I submitted one, so we'll see what happens!

These suitcases are a great deal. They look nice and have held up well on two trips so far - one to Hawaii and another on a shorter trip where we also checked the bags. They hold a ton of clothes and have held up fine so far. I saw some other reviewer complaining about them being a flimsy and they are very lighweight which to me is an advantage and they have held up great for us. Someone else complained about an oil smell. There has been no smell with our suitcases. I would say if you are traveling every week these are not the suitcases for you and you need to invest in something very high quality. For occasional family travel they are a great deal in my opinion. You can't go wrong for $150 if you travel a few times a year and even if you only get 10-15 trips out of them.

Super impressed with these bags. I have taken them across Europe, to several music festivals, multiple transatlantic flights, etc., and they are holding up very well. I like how easy they are to spot at the baggage carousel, and I always get compliments on their appearance. The expandable feature is also very nice to help mediocre packers like me fit everything back into the bag at the end of the trip, after all the clothes are unfolded and there are souvenirs to squeeze in. The multi-directional rolling wheels are a lifesaver when using public transit to get to and from airports. Finally, the hard surface is easy to clean - one wet wipe and they look fine. I took them to Burning Man and they not only did a good job of keeping dust out of my clean clothes, they were easy to clean up afterwards. Multiple people have now asked me where I got these so they can get a set of their own.

The only downside is that there is nothing like an outside pocket for toiletries, small items, etc. However, there is an inside pocket on a flap you can use to divide the contents of the suitcase into two sections, which is helpful for organizing things.

Overall I'm very happy.

The luggage seem sturdy enough at first. And all the zippers are good and heavy duty. Also, the extensions for wheeling them go up plenty high. Each piece of luggage fits inside the next larger piece so when storing them you're only store in one piece of luggage.

We recently flew from Alaska to Chicago and then flew back from Atlanta Georgia to Seattle then to Alaska using this luggage. It did well most of the way through the trip. However on the last leg somewhere between Atlanta and Anchorage on the way back the largest piece developed a crack or a tear along the top part of the case. This made me realize that on the largest piece, the material just isn't quite heavy enough and it just seems like it would be too easy to puncture. Of course take this with a grain of salt because I might've just had an incredibly bad experience with baggage handling. Who would've thought that, right?

Knowing this, I might pick a set that was a bit beefier in terms of the wall thickness of the case. Like I said, the largest of the set is very large and probably more vulnerable because of that. Quite a bit of surface area just waiting to hate hit by a sharp corner of who knows what.

I was mainly looking for something that would stand out at the airport, you know how that works your running late the bags haven't reached the pickup area and then a zillion black suitcases come flying out all at once and everyone scrambles to figure out which one is theirs.

Well no more these strand out nicely they seem quite durable the wheels roll easily so far I have no complaints.

The price for the 3 of them was quite reasonable (under $150) the amazon shipper was timely in shipping them out so I have no regrets about this purchase.

The other nice thing is that the three bags fit perfectly in our Thule rooftop carrier although lugging the big one up there is kinda a pain in the butt.

If I had one complaint it would be that the color isn't properly shows. The picture shows what I would call a medium almost darker blue and the real color is MUCH lighter I 'd hate to call it a pastel blue but its somewhere more in that family of blues. (my wife called it cobalt blue)

Target had a few separate pieces available but their price for 1 bag was almost as much as Amazon sells the 3pc for.

Definitely a recommended buy!

Just bought a second set for $102.51 here on Amazon! WITH FREE PRIME SHIPPING!! 9-24-2012 $102 That's a great deal I have been looking for a second set but they had gone up to over $160 for the last year.

----UPDATE-------------------

I had a minor defect in the second set. The interior zipper on the large case was sewn over the zipper so after using the zipper a few times the thread broke and the zipper started to peel away.

I contacted travelers choice and they requested
1. invoice (proof of purchase)
2. pictures of defect
3. a picture of the outside of the unit
4. a filled out warranty claim form.

Did all that and they sent me a new bag!

Well priced and functional for the multiple pieces.

Durable - I've made several connector flights with the large and med suitcases already and they have held up well

Locks are easy to use and zippers are heavier than others in class so should last longer than others.
Wheels are functioning well also.

Only watch out is the handles are less well constructed than I had hoped. Looser in the channels than I would like as it puts strain when moving the luggage over long distances in the upright position. Warranty will come in handy!
Expansion option works well and the inner lining is stylish and straps are functional and easy to use.
