My 7 year old is studying the rain forest in school and he selected poison dart frogs as his special animal to study because . . . well, because of course he did. They're cool. He LOVED this book. It has beautiful full color photos and close-ups. It's set up with a different type of frog across two pages and has just the right ratio of text-to-photos for young readers. I'd say it's perfect for grades K-3 or 4.

He brought it with us when we went to the Botanical Gardens to compare his book with the poison dart frogs they have on display (behind break-proof glass I hope). It's a great gift for poison dart frog lovers. It turns out that Amazon also sells a poison dart frog stuffed animal, which I also got my son. Put the stuffie and book together and your little frog lover will be thrilled.

I ordered this book to read to my third grade students during our unit about animals and their adaptations. This is a very interesting book. My students enjoyed hearing about the frogs and seeing the photographs. Poison dart frogs are incredible colors!

The photographs are nice and the facts are interesting about poison dart frogs. The book describes the life cycle and habitat of poison dart frogs. It also gives other interesting facts about the frogs. This is a wonderful resource for elementary school and middle school children. However, I would not recommend it for five year olds as mine was not overly interested in it. The age range stated for this book in my opinion would be better suited for those 7 and up.

I purchased this book to help my son with a school project that he was doing on aspects of the rainforest. Although the information isn't too detailed it is very well laid out and easy to understand - perfect for children to read. The pictures are also excellent and colourful with great close-ups of the frogs. All-in-all a great reference source on an interesting animal
